A picture showing a box of juicy peaches wearing “underwear” has gone viral on the Weibo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter) recently. The idea came from an online fruit store in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province. The owner of the fruit store has filed patent for the special underwear-like packaging.
From the webpage of the online fruit store, every 9 peaches are put in a pink box and sold for 298 RMB ($48). The peaches sold at the store are from Wuxi’s Yangshan town, the most famous locality of juicy peach in Jiangsu, according to the owner, Mr. Yao. The “underwear” is customized from a renowned underwear brand in Wuxi and made from a special kind of fabric which is self-developed by the producer. Peaches are all manually packaged. The peaches now sell well in both Wuxi and Nanjing.
