The Funing-Jianhu highway project passed the acceptance and will be in operation by the end of this month.
Funing used to be the last county in Jiangsu province that was not connected by highway. Now, every county in Jiangsu has accesses tohighways.
The Funing-Jianhu highway is an important part of the highway network in Jiangsu province and is one of the important transport infrastructure projects in Jiangsu’s coastal development. The total length of that highway is 36.204 km.The Funing-Jianhu highway connects Nanjing through Xuzhou-Huaian-Suqian-Yancheng highway and Nanjing-Suqian-Xuzhou highway. The Funing-Jianhu highway is also scheduled to connect Shenyang-Haikou highway in the north.
He Ping, director of Jiangsu Transportation Engineering Construction Bureau, said that Jiangsu’s highway mileage will exceed 4,500 km by the end of this year. The density, accessibility and service capacity of Jiangsu’s highway will strive to reach the national advanced level.
