The joint survey in Nanjing conducted by Taikang Life and Hurun released on Dec 8shows that there is an increase of 9,000 people in Jiangsu who have the net worth of 10 million yuan ($1.56 million), pushing the total number to 88,000. This accounts for 7.27 percent of the national total.
Meanwhile, 800 people in Jiangsu have reached the level of net worth of 100 million yuan ($15.6 million) in this year, pushing the total number to 5,900. This number accounts for 7.56 percent of the national total, making Jiangsu No 5 in the national list.
Compared with Europe and other countries, China’s rich are young. The average age of 10 million yuan ($1.56 million) High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) is 40 years old and the average age of 100 million yuan($15.6 million) HNWIs is 44 years old.The male to female ratio is 6:4.Their total assets reached 60.5 trillion yuan ($9.5 trillion).
The average household annual disposable income of Jiangsu’s HNWIs is 2.55 million yuan ($400,000). The average household annual disposable income of Jiangsu’s 10 million yuan HNWIs is 2.75 million yuan ($430,000), 200,000 yuan ($31,000) higher than the national average.
