4G network will start commercial trial use in June, and thousands of buses will have network coverage within this year, disclosed a principal from Jiangsu Mobile.
Jiangsu Mobile newly established 20,000 base stations this year, around ten percent of the national total, with 4G signal covering all the prefecture-cities of Jiangsu as well as some counties and districts. Starting from June, Jiangsu will initiate trial commercial use of 4G network. Patrons will be able to call and surf with 4G network. Thousands of bus routes and tens of thousands of buses will be installed with LTE equipment, 4G network will be transferred into WiFi signals, and passengers could experience a download speed at 4.3 MB per second, with the bus coverage largest in cities like Nanjing, Wuxi and Suzhou.
Currently, Nanjing has set up 1,910 TD-LTE sites, covering main city districts like Gulou, Xuanwu and Qinhuan as well as core districts like Jianye, Qixia, Yuhua, Jiangning and Pukou. Following the 4G signal coverage on bus No 6 and No 34, 155 bus routes and 1,500 buses are covered by around May 17. In middle June, 4G network coverage on bus routes would exceed 95%.
