A flash mob themed at Kunqun Opera Peony Pavilion was staged at the British Library on Sept 20, London time, marking the start of the Nanjing Week at 2016 London Design Festival.

As a promotion ambassador, Nanjing-based book designer Zhu Yingchun donated a special version of his Bookworm to the British Library, making him the first Chinese book-donator to the British Library.

One of the top book designers in China, Zhu deeply roots his design in nature. He spent five years amassing a record of snails, ants, spiders and other bugs that together “wrote” tens of thousands of pictograms, and later compiled Bookworm.

The book was regarded as a useful supplement to the collections in the British Library, which puts high value on fusion and integration of different cultures in the world.

Themed of “Creative East Meest West”, the Nanjing Week in 2016 London Design Festival is to present the creative charm of Nanjing to people in London and around the world from Sept. 19-25.
