Jiangsu’s industrial growth rate in the first two months of 2014 increased by 10.7 percent year on year, over 2 points higher than the national average and the average of East China.
Among the 13 cities in Jiangsu, 11 grew by over 10 percent in terms of industrial growth.
The output growth in eight major industrial sectors of Jiangsu increased by 9.2 percent, with the pharmaceutical industry and the machinery industry topping other fields with growth rates at 13.9 percent and 13.1 percent respectively; the growth rates in industries including petrochemical, building materials and light industry (tobacco) were higher than the provincial average while textiles, electronics and metallurgy had a relatively slow growth.
