Girl wins historical gold in swimming at Games

Shi Jinglin, a girl from Changzhou of Jiangsu province, has won a historical gold medal in the women’s final of 200-meter breaststroke at the 12th National Games with a record of 2’24’’57 on Sept 9. This is the first gold medal achieved by Jiangsu delegation in swimming in this year’s national games and also Jiangsu’s first swimming gold in the five national games over the last twenty years.

Shi was very humble with the result. She said that the first half of the race was under her control and she had an advantage in the second half. She said she was pretty sure that she can get good result in 200-meter breaststroke.

Shi said that she received training in synchronized swimming in the first place and later shifted to swimming. And now swimming has become the whole of her life.
