An Elderly Management Service Center in Jianye District of Nanjing, Jiangsu, recently offered free computer classes for elderly people to teach them how to surf the Internet.

“In the beginning, some elderly people, who are in their 60s or 70s, often came to ask questions about computer, since they felt embarrassed to ask those who are playing with computer and also feared that their children would be impatient if they turned to them. With so many people coming to ask questions, we decided to give free computer classes,” said Liang Yi, the person in charge of the non-profit organization.

The course totals 20 lessons, from switching on and off computers to shopping online, one knowledge point for each class. The content of each week will be posted by the door on Monday, and the class time is from 09:00 to 11:30 on Friday. So far, more than ten elderly people have attended the class.
