The pedestrian bridge of Cultural and Sports Park of Youth Olympic Games (YOG) officially started the campaign of name collection on March 24.

This pedestrian bridge is built over of the branching channel of the Yangtze River in Hexi New Town of Nanjing and will be completed by the end of June this year. The bridge connects the Cultural and Sports Park of YOG and Jiangxinzhou Youth Forest Park in the south, with a total length of 827.5 meters and a bridge deck of more than 20 meters wide.

It will take people only 10 minutes to walk across the branching channel of the Yangtze River, not only providing convenience for the cultural exchange activities among youth all over the world during the YOG, but also meeting the travel needs of residents in both sides of the branching channel.

Targeting the whole world, the name collection campaign is themed with “Build a bridge of sports, youth and friendship” in a bid to seek for a Chinese name for the pedestrian bridge with English translation.

The name should not only reflect the artistic beauty of the bridge, but also demonstrate the features of the famous historical and cultural city of Nanjing and the modern metropolitan center of Hexi New Town, and also, the name should be catchy. Winner of the name collection campaign will be awarded with 10,000 yuan (US$1,617).
