Nanjing Meteorology Bureau issued the first heat alert of 2014 on May 28. The highest temperature will rise to 35 degrees Celsius on May 29 and 30.
The first heat alert of this year came earlier compared that of last year, which was announced on June 16, 2013. The premature high temperature in Nanjing this year will drop to below 30 degrees Celsius temporarily because of a thunder shower that might come on night of May 31 or June 1.
