The Promotional Ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games Online Torch Relay and the Issue Ceremony of First Day Cover were held in Ninghai Middle School on the morning of 25 April.
Created as a limited edition of only 2,000 sets, the first-day cover was unveiled in the presence of teachers and students of Ninghai Middle School and NANJINGLELE, mascot of Nanjing 2014 YOG.
The first-day cover is jointly designed by teachers and students of the School, which conveys the sincerest blessings to Nanjing 2014 Youth Olympic Games. The first-day cover features Ninghai Middle School in the background. The three featured intertwined camphor trees represent unity and NANJINGLELE taking part in various sports adds extra vitality to it.
At the ceremony, first-day cover postcards were mailed by student representatives to invite more people to participate in Nanjing 2014 YOG online Torch Relay and spread the Olympic flame to all corners of the world via Internet.
“It is very meaningful to participate in this grand youth event. My biggest dream is to become a torchbearer and support Nanjing with my own design,” said Ji Ziyi, an 11th grade student from Ninghai Middle School and logo designer of Nanjing 2014 YOG online Torch Relay.
