A test run of Nanjing Metro Line 10 was successful staged on Jan 21. Line 10 is the first cross-river metro line in Nanjing and will be officially put into service in August of 2014.

Line 10 connects region north of the Yangtze River and downtown Nanjing by way of three administrative districts, including Pukou District on the northern bank of Yangtze River, Jianye District and Yuhuatai District on the southern bank. It covers 41.4 kilometers and 14 stations along the route.

Line 10 will be on trial operation without passengers from late February to early March. According to related regulation, a three-month-long test run is needed for newly-built metro lines before passengers are allowed in.
