Senior citizens aged 60 or above in Nanjing with citizen card and those elderly in five kinds of difficulties will enjoy five senior-aiding services from Jan 1, 2014 covering dining, bathing, visiting doctors, emergency situations, cleaning and so forth in their registered permanent residence, said Nanjing Ministry of Civil Affairs on Dec 30.
Senior with five difficulties refers to urban residents without labor capacity, source of income and legal supporter; rural residents enjoying five guarantees (guarantees for eating, clothing, heating, schooling and burial); the elderly living under or around the minimum living standard; the poverty-stricken disabled and half-disabled elderly; seniors aged 70 or above who enjoy special aid for their deceased or disabled only-child; and centenarians.
