A police of No 2 Nanjing High-speed Traffic Police Brigade stopped a red Nanjing-registered van while carrying out security inspection of cars at the toll station of the Second Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge at 11:00 am on Nov 25.
The front windshield of the van was stuck with yellow adhesive tapes, leaving quite a few gaps. It blocked line of sight and had a seriously negative effect on driving.
He was delivering cargo from Dachang District to Qixia District. But the front windshield was broken on Nov 24. He was in a hurry to deliver the cargo and afraid that the windshield would come off. So he bonded the windshield with adhesive tapes, according to the driver.
The police immediately criticized him, imposed a fine of 50 yuan (US$7.8) and two penalty points on the driving record, and ordered him to call repairers to replace the front windshield before allowing him to drive on the road again.
