A group of 40 university students from Nanjing and Taiwan gathered in Nanjing to participate in a summer camp activity named “follow the footsteps of Sun Yat-sen” on Aug 23.

The students made paper statues of Sun together at the Zhongshan Academy in Zijin Mountain Scenic Area in the afternoon on Aug 23.

The camp will organize the students to visit historical sites in Nanjing and Shanghai, where the Chinese revolutionary leader worked. Sun’s remains were buried in Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing.

This year marks the 150th anniversary of Sun’s birth.

Through interpreting historical materials and visiting historical sites, the camp aims at making students across the Taiwan Straits to cherish Sun’s historical contributions to the national dependence, social progress and happiness of people. It will also enhance friendship of students between Nanjing and Taiwan.
