Gingko Child Moral Bank, a “bank” that records virtues into “passbook” in which moral behaviors will “appreciate”, was set up by the Changzhou Experimental Primary School to encourage students to behave properly. The moral bank is located in a small house under teaching buildings with guide line equipped for lining up. According to headmaster Yang Wenjuan, students who have good manners can be awarded with a card, and five cards can be converted into a middle-class card. Students who have three middle-class cards can be elected the Gingko Child Moral Star and their photos will be posted on the school’s bulletin board.

“We use this way to encourage children to behave themselves,” Yang Wenjuan said. These basic etiquette habits that children form in school will not only have an influence on themselves but also on the society at large in the future.
