900 electric buses to serve the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games (YOG) have all been delivered and will be put into operation successively soon to ensure green travel during the YOG.

Produced at BYD Auto’s and Nanjing Golden Dragon’s new energy vehicle production bases in Lishui District, Nanjing, this batch of electric buses are downright “made-in-Nanjing”.

It is learnt that these new energy vehicles for the YOG are not only helpful for environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction, but are also equipped with Level-3 safety measures to significantly improve their overall safety.

The vehicle control unit, motor, motor controller and other key technologies of these Nanjing-produced new energy cars are all independently developed. The latest lithium battery adopted in the vehicles can be fully charged in three hours for a driving range of up to 300 kilometers, with the power consumption of about 1kWh/km.

With its total mass one ton lighter than similar passenger cars, the newly delivered new energy vehicle can accommodate 49 people in total and is equipped with WiFi.
