A total of 20 million smart phones were made by OEMs in Jiangning district, Nanjing in 2013, with each unit bringing in US$100-200 for the manufacturer.
The smart phone production lines in Jiangning district make mobile phones for 20 brands, with Xiaomi alone contributing 10 million units. As a domestic brand warmly sought after by smart phone fanciers, Xiaomi has one of its OEMs, namely Envada, located in Jiangning. Besides, CompalComm (Nanjing) Ltd is the largest manufacturer with the most partners of mobile phone brands in Nanjing. Its output in last year surpassed 10 million units, an increase of 8.73 million units compared to that in 2012. Fourteen phone brands including Nokia, Sony, Lenovo, Haier, LG and Motorola have established cooperation with CompalComm.
