By now, the Nanjing Citizen Card Co., Ltd. has issued a total of 18 million cards, including 6.5 million citizen cards, which can be used to take buses and pay at convenience stores, gas stations, shops, restaurants and car wash shops, etc.
So far, Nanjing has realized the public transportation one-card system with such cities as Yangzhou, Huai’an and Jurong, and the consumption one-card system with such cities as Nantong, Wuxi, Zhenjiang and Huai’an.
It was learnt on Sept 28 that one-card systems of 35 cities excluding Nanjing in China have been interconnected, and citizens of those cities can take buses and do shopping with their bus IC cards in other 34 cities and enjoy local preferential policies.
