This day, 27 September, in 1988, China successfully completed the test launch of a carrier rocket into a predetermined sea area. The launch vehicle for this test was a domestically-developed nuclear submarine. Accurately landing in the target area, the rocket’s test was a complete success, marking China’s entering a new level of cutting-edge, national-defence technology.
