This day, 27 August, in 1975, Chairman Mao Zedong met with Cambodian statesman, Norodom Sihanouk, and others, after their arrival in Beijing from Pyongyang by special train; a meeting in which Mao praised the Cambodian people for daring to fight and win a victory for the Khmer Rouge in little more than 5 years.
