This day, 25 October, in 1971, was held the voting on the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 2758. In it, the proposal by the US to remove the clause, “… to expel forthwith the representatives of Chiang Kai-shek from the place which they unlawfully occupied at the United Nations and in all the organisations related to it”, was rejected by a vote of 61 to 51. Beijing would then represent China at the UN.
