On this Day in Chinese History; 21 September

This day, 21 September, in 1988, when Deng Xiaoping met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Sri Lankabhimanya Ranasing, he referred to the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, with regard especially to relations with neighbouring countries. Deng said these principles are necessary to solve the problems of war and peace, and to establish a new international order.
