This day, 12 November, in 1953, Kim Il Sung, Founder of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, was met at Beijing Railway Station by Zhou Enlai. Kim delivered a speech at the welcome banquet, sincerely thanking the Chinese people and the Chinese government for their selfless assistance to the North Korean people, and warmly praising New China as the oriental people’s struggle against war and imperialism.
