Once the residence of a wealthy merchant family, now visitors can study traditional Chinese architecture, including intricately designed windows and black tile roofs plus its well known, so-called “99 and a half rooms”, due to ancient government policies regarding restrictions over the size of residences according to the occupant’s status.
