A series of videos of deep-sea diving recently become popular in Yangzhou.

These videos are made by a group of diving enthusiasts in Yangzhou. “I dive at various sites with my good friends every year. At the beginning, we take photos of marine life and scenery underwater. Afterwards, we begin to specially look for wreckage of World War II. It is really interesting,” said Liu Dazhuang, the video poster and diving enthusiast.

Liu began diving in 2008. “There are a lot of diving enthusiasts in Yangzhou. We have 20 members in the club. More than ten of us go diving together two or three times every year. All of us have diving licenses,” he added.

Liu and his friends have dived at a lot of sites, including Raja Ampat in Indonesia, Chuuk in Federated States of Micronesia, Galápagos, Republic of Ecuador, Palau and sardine field in South Africa.

“What impressed me most is an intact airplane of World War II under the sea in Chuuk. The sea is so vast that being stuck under sea means death,” said Liu.

“With daily supplies remaining in some shipwrecks, history scene reappears before us,” he added.
