Dubai is indeed an Arabic restaurant, yet it also acts as the lobby bar of The Mandarin Hotel at the main entrance to Fuzimiao, a stalwart that helps it keep up a semi-dependable footfall. Quality, taste and authenticity are all second to none, while a particular rice, lamb and eggplant dish (nuts too, to those with allergies) is worthy of mention as the only dish really representative of the wealthy city from which Dubai derives its moniker. The remainder of the menu comprises much that can be found across the world of Arabia; yoghurt and cucumber salad, French fries with lemon and garlic, mini mixed appetizers that comprise three dips; hummus, eggplant with sesame sauce and chili for instance, mixed BBQs of kebabs plus plenty more. Come the weekend evenings, cue the live music and belly dancers. Outside, a west facing patio awaits that offers generous seating. All meat is Halal.
