This day, 29 June, in 1920, China joined the League of Nations (Société des Nations), sending Wang Zhengting, Gu Weijun and others as its representatives. The League, founded earlier that year on 10 January by the Paris Peace Conference that ended the First World War, was mainly composed of signatories of the Treaty of Versailles. Among its many goals were disarmament, labour conditions, and human and drug traffikking.
