On this Day in Chinese History; 25 May

This day, 25 May, in 2009, with regard to another nuclear test conducted by North Korea, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement, saying, “The Chinese government expresses firm opposition to this. It is the Chinese government’s unswerving and consistent position to achieve denuclearisation of the Peninsula, oppose nuclear proliferation and maintain peace and stability in Northeast Asia”.
