On this Day in Chinese History; 25 June

This day, 25 June, in 1998, US President Bill Clinton made a visit China, the first by a sitting US president in nearly a decade. With Chinese President Jiang Zemin paying a state visit to the US in 1997, the two successful exchanges pushed Sino-US relations into a new stage of development. President Clinton and President Jiang had an in-depth exchange of views and reached a broad and important consensus.
