On this Day in Chinese History; 19 December

This day, 19 December, in 1984, the Chinese government and the British government signed the “Sino-British Joint Declaration on the Question of Hong Kong”. Both sides reiterated that they will implement the Declaration to the letter, so that China can resume to exercise sovereignty over Hong Kong in 1997 and that the territory may continue to maintain stability and prosperity.
