This day, 18 July, in 1954, Zhou Enlai met with Charlie Chaplin and his wife in Geneva. When Zhou congratulated Chaplin on winning the “International Peace Prize” awarded by the World Peace Council, he said, “You are a great fighter against aggression and war! From the films you made and the many characters you created, we all deeply felt the call for human friendship and world peace”.
