This day, 11 June, 1979, Nakajima Kenzo, the Japanese social activist and sincere friend of the Chinese people, passed away. Nakajima had been President of the  Japan-China Cultural Exchange Association which he founded in 1956. One of the pioneers of cultural exchanges between China and Japan, his continues to be one of the most influential and contributing groups to the cause of Sino-Japanese friendship.
