This day, 11 January, 1964, Premier Zhou Enlai visited Ghana, where there had been an assassination attempt on President Kwame Nkrumaha. Regardless of the danger, Zhou resolutely decided to continue the visit, suggesting a break in the rules of protocol, to cancel the airport pick up and drop off, and hold all events involving the president at the presidential residence.
