To stay connected to the social networks that are the norm these days, expats rely on VPNs. Is China about to clamp down on private VPN use? Over the last few days, the stories have gone around that Internet providers have been told to block VPNs from February 1st next year. China Telecom says “the company has not received any notice from the government on this regard.” There does not appear to be any definitive way to know what is happening.
