Hail Incredulously Falls in Nanjing as Temperatures Hit 40 Degrees

Under gale force 7-9 winds and short-term heavy rain, hail fell on parts of Northern Nanjing during the afternoon of 5 August. Meteorologists say the formation of hail is related to strong updrafts, and such convective activity is prone to occur in summer.
