About Us

The Nanjinger is the biggest English website in Jiangsu Province and the only high profile media network offering credible visibility to the international community in this part of Eastern China

As well as being the English media of record for Nanjing and Jiangsu in eastern China, the back story is The Nanjinger began life in 2009, stemming from a dream that a city with a history as long, and a status as important, as Nanjing, deserves a world-class English media outlet.

From the outset, our self-imposed remit has remained the same; to bring the international and English-speaking community a wide and varied selection of news and features about Nanjing, its surrounding area, and Chinese culture, while adhering to international journalistic standards with both impartiality and objectivity.

The Nanjinger brand is 100 percent owned and operated by SinoConnexion Ltd., a UK media company registered in 2008, and its subsidiary in China; Nanjing Hefu Cultural Media Co. Ltd. (南京贺福文化传媒有限公司).

The Nanjinger comprises four English language media platforms; the website, www.nanjinger.com; a monthly printed magazine, an annual city guide publication and an official WeChat account. These are, in addition, joined by a host of other international social media pages.

The Nanjinger

The Nanjinger in print is a monthly publication* that debuted in October 2010 and is distributed to foreign-frequented locations around Nanjing, with a focus on international schools, famous hotels, trade bodies, well-known restaurants, upper echelon medical centres, prime coffee shops and bars as well as companies who have a high number of foreign employees.

Since April, 2022, The Nanjinger magazine has also been available to read on board every China Airlines flight out of Taipei to 192 destinations worldwide as part of its digital in-flight entertainment package.

The Nanjinger is Nanjing’s first English language publication written by local foreigners and Nanjingers, aimed at the international community, Chinese who have returned from working or studying abroad, and English-speaking locals.

With hundreds of listings vetted for quality, consistency and longevity, the guide has been the perfect taxi book for the last 12 years, helping foreigners and English-speaking Chinese find their feet in Nanjing, along with interesting places and resources they may not have known existed.
