The monumental development of Wanda Mall in Xianlin has become just part of the landscape. However, that landscape itself is changing. As previously mentioned in Lifecycle, Xianlin Lake has been much improved by the clearing of water, weeds and reeds. For quite a while, all has been quiet. Suddenly this week, a fleet of trucks and earthmoving equipment has returned, and a miniature “terra-forming” is underway. Soil is being scooped up and moved, creating small hills and valleys. The shape of the lake itself is also being changed. Against the backdrop of the rearing Wanda Mall, it is an awe-inspiring and rapid transformation of an environment changing from countryside to urban.
