Contactless payment that scans the veins on a shopper’s palm is now trialed in Suzhou of Jiangsu province.

Nearly 100 intelligent machines with the technology that ‘reads’ the patterns of veins have been installed in the venues at Cultural and Sport Center in Suzhou High Tech Zone. To date, the new technology has been adopted for the entrance/exit and lockers at the center’s natatorium. In the future, persons with the membership in the center can swipe their palms for payment.

Located three millimeters beneath the skin, every individual’s vein pattern is completely unique, so there really is no way of committing fraud with this system. And furthermore, the vein-scanning machines features the function of bio-assay.

Compared with other forms of sensing identification methods, the vein identification is more secure.

In addition, the payment is contactless, namely there is a certain distance between the palm and sensing apparatus, which is relatively hygienic.

The vein-scanning technology can also be used for security management at campus.

And the biometric identification technology can be adopted in picking up children in the kindergarten, which can effectively prevent the criminals claimed as parents picking up children.
