A Mercedes Benz bus with the European Union’s license plate was found in the street of Nanjing on the morning of Sept 22, attracting much attention of curiosity.
As this bus looks extremely large and uncommon in China, the traffic police stopped it immediately.
This bus comes from Germany and all passengers are Germans except one specially-invited Chinese translator. They drove this bus from Germany and entered China from Inner Mongolia through legal procedures.
This bus used for self-driving travel holds the permit of stay in China which will expire in November, and its destination is Yunnan by way of Beijing and Guangxi, etc.
After its legality was confirmed, the bus was released by the traffic police.
The traffic police in Nanjing said that foreign vehicles also have to obey domestic traffic laws in China, or else they will be punished in case of any violations to the laws.
