This day, 23 July, 1965, Premier Zhou Enlai sent a telegram to the World Conference against Atomic and Hydrogen Bombs, pointing out that the Chinese government has always advocated the complete prohibition and thorough destruction of all nuclear weapons, and has worked tirelessly to this end. China develops nuclear weapons precisely to break the nuclear monopoly and completely eliminate nuclear weapons.
