On this Day in Chinese History; 12 June

This day, 12 June, 1987, Deng Xiaoping met with Yugoslav guests and expressed important opinions on China’s reform issues. Deng said, “I advocate reform. There is no way out without reform. In the past, we copied foreign models, coupled with some of our own mistakes, which hindered the development of productivity, led to rigid thinking, and hindered the enthusiasm of the people and the grassroots”.
