Statistics from Jiangsu Provincial Statistics Bureau released on Feb 2 indicated that Suzhou’s express service revenue reached 6.29 billion yuan ($1 billion), ranking the sixth among the top 50 cities nationwide in terms of express services.
The volume of business of Suzhou reached 370 million pieces, ranking the eighth. Meanwhile, Nanjing’s express service revenue reached 41.2 billion yuan ($6.58 billion), ranking the ninth and its business volume totaled 280 million pieces, ranking the tenth.
The express delivery revenue in Jiangsu Province in 2014 reached 20.11 billion yuan ($3.2 billion), an increase of 40.6 percent. The total business volume added up to 1.48 billion pieces, an increase of 50.8 percent. Suzhou’s express business revenue and business volume accounted for 31 percent and 25 percent of the province respectively. Suzhou and Nanjing’s revenue in the express sector reached 10.41 billion yuan ($1.6 billion), accounting for 50 percent of Jiangsu Province.
