The first robot convenience store was put into operation in the Wisdom Valley Science and Technology Tower in Chengnan New District of Jiangsu’s Yancheng city on Jan 9.
In the robot store unattended 24 hours a day, thousands of commodities in packages of all sizes are sold intelligently and automatically. The payments are made through a variety of remote devices, and the commodities are replenished through cloud computing in the background.
“Cloud plus Terminal” is the operation mode of the store, which means that the store is not only a terminal but can also access to online information, and eventually realize online goods ordering and in-store pickup.
Consumers can select and order favorite goods through the store’s WeChat platform, and then enter the verification code in the store to get what they have ordered. Besides retailing, the robot convenience store will also open services of payment for water, electricity and coal, payment for phone, query for personal data of social insurance and housing accumulation fund, etc.
