As of Nov 30, 2014, 1,439 international marriages have been registered in Jiangsu, along with 207 international divorce cases, according to report on international marriage registration work in Jiangsu in 2014 on Jan 4.
Among them, 1,140 foreign men married Jiangsu girls, and 279 foreign girls were married to Jiangsu’s, higher than the same period of last year. As of the end of last Nov, the origin of newly registered couples involves 66 countries and regions in 2014, dominated by Japan and the US.
Marriage registration saw newly married from Tunisia, Burundi and Guyana for the first time. The newly married from Japan totaled 116, accounting for 10.2%, and those from the US totaled 106, accounting for 9.3%. Most international marriages are entered into by foreign men with Jiangsu girls.
