When a reporter visited Li Zigang in Maxiang Village of Shangtang Town, Sihong County on Oct 8th, he witnessed an astonishing sight; the largest pig known to Jiangsu province.
This not-so-little piggy lives in ultimate luxury; in addition to having his own sty and being fed a wide range of grains, vegetables and fruits on a daily basis, his owner also provides it with heating in the winter and an electric fan in the summer.
“I’ve raised more than 30,000 pigs in the past 28 years, but this is the biggest I’ve ever had.” said 49-year-old Li Zigang. This farmer also told the reporter that when he bought the pig in October, 2011, it only weighed 35-40kg; nothing out of the ordinary. But it has grown increasingly bigger recently, not only 3-4 times the size of other pigs, but also very nimble.
Li said that he feels very happy and gratified as more people are coming to visit his 512 kilogram pig.
