This day, 6 March, in 1995, the United Nations World Summit for Social Development was held in Copenhagen, with over 100 heads of state and government attending. There, Premier Li Peng’s speech, in which he put forward five proposals to promote global social development, was widely appreciated and welcomed by attending representatives as well as the court of public opinion.
