This day, 18 December, in 1970, on the 31st anniversary of the publication of the Chinese translation of “Red Star Shines Over China”, Chairman Mao Zedong cordially received the author of the book, American writer Edgar Snow, in recognition of it being the first full-length work to faithfully report the actual situation in the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army base in Shaanxi to the outside world.
这一天，1970年12月18日，在《红星照耀中国》中文译本出版31周年之际，毛泽东主席诚挚地接待了该书的作者、美国作家埃德加·斯诺，以表彰这是第一部忠实地向外界报道陕西中国工农红军基地实际情况的全长作品。
