On this Day in Chinese History; 18 December

This day, 18 December, in 1970, on the 31st anniversary of the publication of the Chinese translation of “Red Star Shines Over China”, Chairman Mao Zedong cordially received the author of the book, American writer Edgar Snow, in recognition of it being the first full-length work to faithfully report the actual situation in the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army base in Shaanxi to the outside world.
