Release ceremony of photo album Jiang Zemin and Yangzhou was held in Yangzhou on Aug 12.
The album, which is divided chronologically into three chapters, namely Son of Poems and Rites, Sentiments of Home and Country and Love for Pen and Ink, is published by Central Documents Publishing House. The album includes 160-odd rare photos, recording truthfully Jiang’s family tradition, cultural foundation and revolution background from the angle of the relationship between Jiang Zeming and Yangzhou.
Jiang is widely beloved by Chinese people, said Luo Zhijun, Secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee. Jiang attaches great importance to the development of Jiangsu province, and paid more than 10 visits to Jiangsu to inspect and give guidance. During National People’s Congress in 2003, Jiang ardently hoped that Jiangsu province can take the lead in building a well-off society and modernizing the province, therefore he set general goal and position for Jiangsu’s development in the new century.
The release ceremony was attended by Wang Yanwen, Member of Provincial Standing Committee and Head of the Department of Publicity, and relevant staffs of China International Publishing Group and People’s Pictorial, etc. Xie Zhengyi, Secretary of Yangzhou Municipal Committee hosted the release ceremony and introduced the compilation and publication of the book. The album Jiang Zemin and Yangzhou is also presented to Nanjing Library, Nanjing University Library, Yangzhou Library, Yangzhou University Library and Yangzhou High School Library as a gift.
