What the role will Chinese universities and companies play in online courses? Professor Michel Plaisent from University of Quebec drew people’s attention with this topic at the 6th Global Outsourcing Summit held in Wuxi, east China’s Jiangsu province on June 15, 2013.

Mr. Plaisent took an interview after the summit. He mentioned that in America and Canada, government’s budget cut in education has led to frozen enrolment, frozen hiring rates and reduction of faculty. Many foreign private universities have offered their courses on-line.

E-learning is a new way to give courses, and it can help reduce cost and deliver courses faster. With e-learning, students have more freedom to choose the course they like, and it helps most people receive education without spending much money. Universities can focus on their best and advanced courses, and leave those common standard courses to e-learning.
